About this Blog...

This blog is to aid the journey of a young software organization to embrace agile and scrum way of working.

We are a start up, operating in a dynamic business environment where priorities change rapidly, customers expect to see something tangible before making any decision, resources are always in short supply.

In such environment, I am convinced that the time is right to bring agile and scrum culture in all aspect of our way of working - from product management to software development and project deliveries.

We want agile to help us to
respond well to explorative nature of our business and unpredictability of the requirements
-  follow an iterative, “inspect-and-adapt” approach to development that will greatly reduce both development costs and time to market
-  empower individuals and teams to take ownership of the product and delivery, reduce management overheads and bring an inclusive and fun culture

The transformation will be gradual and not revolutionary and this has to inclusive - from the leadership team to each team members in the organization.

I personally believe that the learning has to be on the job and by actually doing. Even though we have arranged a few short introductory classroom sessions on Agile and Scrum way of Software development, most of the learning is going to happen through coaching and taking the team through the process.

During the first few Sprints, I have written a series of short email posts to the team helping them learn, understand and practise aspects of the Scrum process.

I am collating these posts in a form of a blog hoping that they may be of some use by another young team venturing into the wonderful world of agile.

The agile journey of our organization has just started. Each voyage is unique in its own way. I hope to chronicle our learning as we go through the process.
